The Outer Worlds Xbox One
Description
In The Outer Worlds, you come out of slumber on a colonist ship that was lost in transit to Halcyon, the galaxy’s most remote colony, only to discover that it is being threatened by a vast conspiracy. The character you choose to play will affect how this player-driven narrative plays out as you explore the deepest depths of space and come across diverse factions that are all fighting for control. You are the unplanned variable in the colony’s business equation.
- The player-driven story RPG: In keeping with the Obsidian tradition, how you approach The Outer Worlds is up to you. Your choices affect not only the way the story develops; but your character build, companion stories, and end game scenarios.
- You can have flaws in a positive way: The concept of flaws is new to The Outer Worlds. The defects a person carries around help to make them a captivating hero. As you play The Outer Worlds, the game keeps track of your performance to determine your weakest areas. Continue to experience Raptidon attacks? You receive a debuff while interacting with the nasty creatures if you have the Raptiphobia defect, but you also gain an immediate character bonus. While exploring Halcyon, you can create the character you choose by using an optional game mechanic.
- Recruit your crew: As you travel across the farthest colony, you will come across a variety of people that want to join you. These friends, each equipped with a special ability, each have their own goals, drives, and values. You can either assist them in achieving their objectives or use them for your own purposes.
- Discover the corporate colony: The corporate board is in charge of running Halcyon, a colony at the edge of the galaxy. Everything is under their control, with the exception of the alien monsters that were left behind when the terraforming of the colony’s two planets didn’t exactly go as planned. Find your spacecraft, assemble your crew, and travel Halcyon’s settlements, space stations, and other fascinating locales.
