Our protagonist closes his eyes to the outside world, drifts off to sleep, and wakes up in a terrifying dream. A story-driven horror adventure game called In Nightmare combines stealth action with a variety of challenges. It depicts a young child who is attempting to overcome his fear while seeking out the last vestige of love.

A young child who is dealing with the affects of a broken family and the pain it causes will retreat from reality and enter a gloomy, fantastical world he has fashioned from his own recollections. He embarks on his quest to discover what is really inside as a result of this. His past trauma manifests as scary demons that wish to keep him in an endless nightmare after he suffered in reality. The child will discover ways to elude attackers, solve challenging riddles, embrace his fear, and discover the truth with the aid of his dream spirit in order to be able to purify the creatures he has created and finally awaken.
