In The Outer Worlds, you awake from hibernation on a colonist ship that was lost in transit to Halcyon, the galaxy’s farthest colony from Earth, only to find yourself in the middle of a sinister conspiracy that threatens to destroy it. The character you choose will dictate how this player-driven game evolves as you travel the farthest regions of space and confront diverse groups all fighting for control. You are the unplanned variable in the colony’s business equation.

• The story is driven by the players. RPG: In keeping with Obsidian tradition, your approach to The Outer Worlds is entirely up to you. Your decisions influence not only the plot, but also the character development, companion stories, and ending.
• You can be flawed, in a good way: New to The Outer Worlds is the idea of flaws. A compelling hero is made by the flaws they carry with them. While playing The Outer Worlds, the game tracks your experience to find what you aren’t particularly good at. Keep getting attacked by Raptidons? Taking the Raptiphobia flaw gives you a debuff when confronting the vicious creatures, but rewards you with an additional character perk immediately. This optional approach to the game helps you build the character you want while exploring Halcyon.
• Lead your companions: As you go through the farthest colony, you will meet a slew of people that want to join your crew. These friends, each endowed with distinct skills, each have their own objectives, motivations, and values. It’s up to you whether you want to assist them reach their goals or use them for your own.
• Explore the corporate colony: Halcyon is a corporate colony on the outskirts of the galaxy that is owned and administered by a corporate board. They control everything… except the alien monsters left behind when the colony’s two worlds were terraformed incorrectly. Find your spacecraft, assemble your crew, and explore Halcyon’s villages, space stations, and other exciting destinations.
